The Isaiah Berlin Literary Trust (IBLT)

The Isaiah Berlin Literary Trust is responsible for all aspects of Berlin's literary estate.  It was established by Berlin in the last year of his life, and he gave to it his papers and his copyrights, on the understanding that his papers would pass to the Bodleian Library, Oxford, after his death.  In 1999 those papers were given to the Bodleian, where they were catalogued by Michael Hughes: his Catalogue of the papers of Sir Isaiah Berlin, 1897-1998 is available online.

The Trustees of the Isaiah Berlin Literary Trust are Peter Halban, Henry Hardy, Avishai Margalit, Alan Ryan and Patricia Williams. All correspondence intended for Trustees or the Trust may be sent to the Isaiah Berlin Legacy Fellow at Wolfson College, Oxford, OX2 6UD, UK, or by email via berlin@wolfson.ox.ac.uk.

Isaiah Berlin Online (IBO)

The Isaiah Berlin Online website functions under the auspices of the Isaiah Berlin Literary Trust. It has been built by the Isaiah Berlin Legacy Project at Wolfson College, Oxford, in partnership with Olamalu web design, of Witney, Oxfordshire.

It aims to be a work of reference, and an interdisciplinary gateway for all those interested in any aspect of Berlin’s life and works. A primary responsibility is to provide accurate information, and at its heart is a definitive catalogue of Berlin's publications, broadcasts, and interviews. But the website is also meant as an educational resource, encouraging a fuller appreciation of Berlin's life, and a wider interest in the broad range of ideas in which he was himself interested. It hosts the Isaiah Berlin Image Database (IBID).

All enquiries, comments, or suggestions relating to the site and its content should be sent to the Isaiah Berlin Legacy Fellow at Wolfson College, Oxford: berlin@wolfson.ox.ac.uk.

The Isaiah Berlin Legacy Project (IBLP)

The Isaiah Berlin Legacy Project, which was created by the IBLT in 2015, aims to make optimal use of digital media to ensure that Berlin’s legacy has its widest possible geographical and generational reach, and is presented in a way that best serves the interests of the academic community and the enquiring non-specialist.

The IBLP curates the Isaiah Berlin Room in the Library of Wolfson College; and from a Trust Office in Wolfson it helps to administer the large and definitive collection of Berlinian papers that has been accumulating in Oxford since before Berlin's death in November 1997.

The Project is staffed by the Isaiah Berlin Legacy Fellow and the Isaiah Berlin Research Associate, both part-time posts.
