2017 Annual Isaiah Berlin Day in Riga: Professor Timothy D. Snyder

Professor Timothy D. Snyder gave the 2017 Isaiah Berlin Memorial Lecture in Riga, as part of the Annual Isaiah Berlin Day there.

The central event of the 2017 Annual Isaiah Berlin Day in Riga was the Berlin Memorial Lecture, delivered by the celebrated historian of Eastern Europe, Timothy Snyder.

Snyder's lecture, ‘From Inevitability to Eternity: the New Politics of Unfreedom’, was listened to attentively by a packed audience that included Raimonds Vējonis, the President of Latvia, and his predecessor Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, President 1999–2011, and an Honorary Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford.
