The May 2021 'relaunch' issue of the international literary journal Jewish Quarterly

The independent international literary journal Jewish Quarterly, founded in 1953, is relaunched this month with articles by Holly Case, Mikołaj Grynberg, Deborah Lipstadt and Simon Schama, under the editorship of Jonathan Pearlman. Its theme is ‘The return of history: new populism, old hatreds’.

Also featured in this issue is a series of recently discovered letters from Isaiah Berlin to his friend, Robert Silvers, editor of The New York Review of Books, on the theme of Israel. Published here for the first time, the letters span 1967–84, and are introduced and annotated by the writer and producer David Herman.
