‘Is there anything wrong with rights?’: the 19th Isaiah Berlin Lecture at Hampstead Synagogue
The 2021 Isaiah Berlin Lecture at Hampstead Synagogue, the 19th lecture in the series, will be given by Baroness Hale of Richmond, on the theme 'Is there anything wrong with rights?'
- Baroness Hale was President of the UK Supreme Court 2017–20
- She is the first woman to have been appointed to the Supreme Court, and in 2004 became the only woman (to date) to have been appointed a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary (i.e. a UK 'law lord')
- Previous lecturers include Margaret MacMillan (2018), Gordon Brown (2019) and Philippe Sands (2020)
- The lecture will be given online on Sunday 24 October, starting at 20.00.
