Yale Conference on 'The Life and Legacy of Isaiah Berlin'

Henry Hardy, of Wolfson College, Oxford, was among an international panel of scholars who convened in Yale in February 2017 to discuss Berlin's life and legacy.

The conference was organised under the auspices of The Yale Center for the Study of Representative Institutions (YCRI), in part so that the authors contributing to the forthcoming Cambridge Companion to Isaiah Berlin could share their ideas and cross-fertilize. Among the speakers was Henry Hardy, who, with Joshua Cherniss, has written the introduction to this work: 'The Life and Opinions of Isaiah Berlin'.

Other attendees were: Steven Smith (Yale), Naomi Choi (University of Houston), Ryan Patrick Hanley (Marquette), Aurelian Craiutu (Indiana University), Ian Shapiro (Yale), Kathleen Parthé (University of Rochester), Fania Oz-Salzberger (University of Haifa School of Law and Center for German and European Studies), Gina Gustavsson (Uppsala University), George Crowder (Flinders University), William Galston (Brookings).
